Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is building AI-powered financial intelligence products with a senior engineering focus. You will turn manual accounting workflows into reliable backend systems and apply an experimental approach to product engineering.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, from understanding user needs to deployment and monitoring, with experience in production AI systems and robust data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Five to 15 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong Python skills and senior-level engineering judgment.
• Experience shipping AI or ML applications to production, including agentic or LLM-driven systems that use tools, APIs, documents, or databases.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, testing, operating, and improving APIs, integrations, pipelines, or distributed systems.
• Experience evaluating probabilistic AI outputs and working hands-on with models.
• End-to-end ownership of ambiguous product or systems work, with the ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and results clearly.
• Experience in both a rigorous engineering environment and a setting with substantial individual ownership, such as a startup or small team.
• Strong relational database fundamentals, success coding professionally in at least two languages, and familiarity with financial or accounting workflows is beneficial.

What We're Looking For

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
