Job summary

FICO is seeking a Senior Java Engineer for the myFICO engineering team. You will design, build, and operate secure, scalable Java microservices powering consumer-focused platforms on AWS, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes.

You will ship LLM-powered features and use AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring quality and security. You will collaborate with product, InfoSec, and platform teams to meet business requirements, optimize performance, and maintain robust test coverage.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices on AWS.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs into production Java services.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong foundation in application security: encryption, authentication, authorization, and secure API design.
• Proven experience tuning high-throughput, low-latency systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing at multiple levels.
• Proven experience with high-traffic consumer-facing platform and a quality-first mindset.
• Exceptional communication skills to articulate design tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable Java microservices powering the myFICO.com platform.
• Ship LLM-powered features with observability, evals, and guardrails.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while reviewing output.
• Drive design discussions and code reviews to raise code quality and architecture clarity.
• Partner with product, InfoSec, and platform teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks through profiling and refactoring.
