Job summary

Q2 in Cary, NC is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Banking Fraud team. You will build and evolve real-time fraud prevention systems powering billions in transactions, focusing on reliability, latency, and scalable cloud-native services.

You’ll influence design, tooling, and AI-assisted engineering across a large enterprise codebase. The role emphasizes Python, AWS, CI/CD, and API design, with opportunities to mentor peers and drive modernization

Qualifications

• Must have strong production software experience.
• Proficiency with Python and API development.
• Cloud architecture and infrastructure as code knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate low-latency fraud prevention services and APIs.
• Collaborate to deliver new fraud capabilities and improve production systems.
• Modernize Python services, tooling, and patterns across the fraud platform.
• Advance AI-assisted and agentic software engineering practices.
• Design and operate AWS-based cloud-native architectures (serverless/event-driven).
• Integrate with Q2’s enterprise banking platform and C#/.NET points as needed.
• Improve observability, testing, and deployment practices across production services.
• Mentor engineers and promote maintainable patterns and strong engineering practices.
