Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior software engineer to support distributed backend services, APIs, and platform microservices for enterprise AI operations in the Alexandria, VA area.

The role requires 12+ years in software/data analytics, strong collaboration with hybrid teams, and hands-on experience with backend microservices, APIs, and Kubernetes-native/cloud-native engineering. A TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent graduate degree in a quantitative or analytical field (Software Development, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computational Social Science, etc.).
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, data science, analytics, or quantitative intelligence analysis, developing analytics and AI/ML solutions and demonstrating progressive technical development and outcomes. (4+ years with a Master’s).
• Active Top Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with hybrid teams to research, build, and deploy complex, user‑friendly analytical platforms.
• Experience with Backend microservices, Distributed systems, API development, Event‑driven architectures, Kubernetes‑native application development, Cloud‑native engineering.
• Familiarity with Rust, Go, Python, TypeScript, Django.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expertise in developing distributed backend services, APIs, and microservices for enterprise AI operations, with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and predictive analytics.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative analytical platforms in a fast‑paced environment.
