Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead delivery of scalable software solutions within the Global Data Foundation. You will design, build, and maintain applications and services, integrating AI/ML components and mentoring peers.

The role emphasizes full lifecycle development, CI/CD, testing, and performance optimization. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements while ensuring reliability, security, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience; or 5 years’ experience in software engineering.
• Master’s degree in CS/CE/IS preferred with 1 year experience.

Responsibilities

• Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
• Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving CI/CD and automated testing.
• Convert high-level designs into scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management for quality and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor application performance and support continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Participate on-call rotation to triage data pipeline or application failures and recover as needed.
