Job summary

Trellis Company is seeking a Software Engineer IV to join the Distributed Applications team in Round Rock, TX. You will design, develop, and maintain web, mobile, and AI-enabled enterprise solutions, leading feature work from design through production and mentoring teammates.

This senior role requires strong Java/Spring, REST APIs, and DevOps experience with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms. You will push innovative AI capabilities with LLMs, RAG, and AI agents, ensuring 24x7

Qualifications

• Five years of experience delivering technology solutions across application development, cloud services, data platforms, automation, AI-enabled technologies.
• Experience with Java, RESTful web services.
• Hands-on with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, Git, and Nexus, including CI/CD and cloud deployments (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience building AI-enabled application features, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, or AI agent/workflow automation.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborating in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software features for web, mobile, AI, and legacy applications.
• Lead the technical implementation of projects from requirements analysis to production release.
• Provide technical status updates, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and IT leadership.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Implement AI-enabled features using Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and NLP techniques.
• Provide on-call production support and mentor junior engineers.
