Responsibilities

Our mission at Mayo Clinic is to inspire hope and promote health through integrated clinical practice, education, and research. The Generative AI team is at the forefront, combining research with the latest transformer-based technologies to transform medicine.

This is a full-time remote position within the United States. Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position (H1B, F1 OPT STEM).

Position Responsibilities
  • Leverage machine learning techniques such as deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, large language models, to design, develop, test, and deploy AI models for healthcare applications.
  • Work across the full AI lifecycle from ideation to production.
  • Analyze healthcare data, including patient records, medical imaging, and genomic data, to develop AI solutions integrated into clinical workflows.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support AI/ML solution engineering and implementation.
  • Develop robust machine learning pipelines for production, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
  • Automate AI software development and releases through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement best practices for AI development and deployment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
  • Consult with clinical and AI teams to address complex problems.
  • Train healthcare staff on AI tools and technologies.
  • Contribute to advancing healthcare AI methods and technologies.
Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering with 5 years of experience or an Associate’s degree with 7 years of experience. Strong software engineering skills, experience with high-level languages (C, C++, Java, etc.), and knowledge of the full software development lifecycle. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and Agile experience.

Preferred: Master’s or Ph.D. in related fields, healthcare AI experience, leadership skills, cloud infrastructure expertise, experience with large healthcare datasets, proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.), and knowledge of healthcare systems and regulations.

Exemption Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $134,888 - $195,624/year

Benefits: Yes

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with as-needed weekends
