Job summary

Verana Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs, UI components, and backend services powering key applications. The role requires leadership in secure, high‑performing systems, with strong frontend and backend practices and AI-assisted development tooling.

You will collaborate with design and product teams, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, ensure security standards, and mentor junior engineers while delivering features in a fast-paced, hybrid

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot with system design focus.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Cloud-based solutions with AWS and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality, user-centric interfaces and components
• Architect, build and maintain high-performance, robust and scalable services
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate end-user requirements into interfaces
• Participate in CI/CD optimization using Docker, Kubernetes and AWS
• Write clean, tested code using JUnit and other testing frameworks
• Ensure application security following OWASP and OAuth 2.0
• Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver features
• Stay updated on emerging technologies to drive innovation
