Job summary

Advanced Measurement Technology (AMT) in Oak Ridge, TN, a part of AMETEK, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain ORTEC software for Windows and embedded platforms. You will contribute to modernization initiatives and work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or similar field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• U.S. Person due to ITAR work eligibility.
• Strong proficiency in C# and C++.
• Proficiency with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with REST and gRPC based backends.
• Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD, and release management.
• Familiar with SSDF and secure coding practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience building UI for scientific/industrial software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Windows desktop and services.
• Build service-oriented architectures using gRPC and REST.
• Translate requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews and planning.
• Interface software with instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Collaborate across product, manufacturing, QA and support teams.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for automated builds and tests.
• Apply SSDF practices and secure coding throughout SDLC.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Evaluate new technologies for continuous improvement.
