Job summary

Zuora is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to Zephr, our subscription experience platform. You will work across frontend, backend, and design, shaping APIs and scalable systems for B2B and public use.

The role emphasizes high throughput, reliability, and observability, with a hybrid onsite model based in Foster City, CA. Expertise in Java/Kotlin, React, and cloud-native tech is valued.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in development roles.
• Strong proficiency in Java (JDK 21+) and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript; exposure to React.
• Experience designing APIs: REST, gRPC, GraphQL, OpenAPI.
• API security knowledge: OAuth2, SAML, JWT; security basics.

Responsibilities

• Contribute and lead on development and scaling of a high throughput, multi-tenant application.
• Design and implement solutions for complex end-user and backend challenges.
• Develop and maintain secure APIs for internal, B2B, and public use.
• Collaborate with product mgmt and operations to ensure scalable systems.
• Mentor junior colleagues and promote best practices.
