Job summary

Billtrust is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design and deliver complex, AI-assisted features across our SaaS platforms. You will drive architectural decisions, ensure code quality, and mentor engineers while collaborating with PMs and cohorts.

You will leverage AI tools like Claude Code, review AI-generated and human code for correctness, and help shape best practices for AI-driven development across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in scalable SaaS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proficiency in C#, C++, PHP, Java, Node.js or similar language
• Strong web tech skills: HTML5, CSS/Sass, Angular, React, TS/JS
• Strong SQL knowledge (SQL Server/MySQL)
• Experience with AI coding assistants and code review
• Git or similar for source control

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end specs for complex features and edge cases
• Collaborate with PM to translate requirements into technical specs
• Lead technical decisions and mentor engineers
• Design REST APIs and maintain UI/backend services
• Review AI-generated code and validate tests and quality
