Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience on a software development team.
• Experience designing, implementing, and running automated tests with Playwright (or similar).
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on AI-assisted testing experience.
• API testing knowledge – REST/GraphQL, auth flows, and automation.
• Ability to ramp on new technologies quickly.
• Experience documenting and completing manual tests.
• Experience writing release criteria and test plans.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.

Responsibilities

• Spend ~80% of your time on automation and enabling the team to drive quality with AI-assisted test design.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Product, and Design to validate feature requirements and acceptance criteria early.
• Coach developers to own more test authorship over time.
• Write automated tests in TypeScript/Playwright across UI and API layers.
• Contribute to testing framework design and CI/CD quality gates.
• Leverage AI tools to increase coverage and reduce maintenance overhead.
• Write/manual tests alongside automation to verify new features and edge cases.
• Investigate root causes of test failures and distinguish product defects from flaky tests.
• Define and maintain release criteria, test plans, and coverage expectations across squads.
