Job summary

Asana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Product Frameworks team in New York City, to modernize our home-built frameworks and steer toward open-source practices. You’ll work with product engineers and AI agents to accelerate development and reduce friction across our codebase.

You’ll collaborate across teams, mentor others, and help migrate legacy systems to modern, safe, AI-native frameworks while leveraging monorepo best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfortable switching between areas of a large codebase.
• Interest in using AI agents to migrate legacy systems to open source best practices.
• Collaborative approach to accelerating development through agentic workflows.
• Ability to make and articulate technical tradeoffs with cross-cutting impact.

Responsibilities

• Modernize Asana’s custom frameworks and align with industry standards.
• Leverage AI agents to migrate from legacy systems to open-source frameworks.
• Partner with product engineering teams to speed up development and adopt best practices across the monorepo.
• Support product engineering teams through office hours and presentations on our frameworks.
