Job summary

Hasbro's Wizards of the Coast is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to scale the Magic: The Gathering Arena live-service. You will design in C#/.NET, run Kubernetes workloads, and own the telemetry stack with Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.

You'll influence the roadmap, improve developer tooling, and support end-to-end live product development in a hybrid onsite role in Renton, WA. Strong cloud-native exp and FinOps know-how are a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with live-service products.
• Hands-on experience running scalable workloads on Kubernetes in the cloud.
• Experience with distributed message-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka or similar).
• Infrastructure as code experience, ideally Terraform.
• Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog and alerting practices.
• Strong debugging across service boundaries using logs and metrics.
• Self-starter, roadmap influence, empathy for past decisions while modernizing.
• Bonus: FinOps (OpenCost/Kubecost), GitOps (Helm, ArgoCD), etc.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable, scalable solutions in C#/.Net and Kubernetes for Magic: The Gathering Arena to maximize uptime and minimize cost.
• Improve telemetry signal-to-noise and create dashboards in Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
• Own service developer experience, tooling, and quality of life for internal customers.
• Help build the roadmap by identifying high-impact problems and proposing solutions.
• Support end-to-end live product development and production issue resolution.
• Expand knowledge in cloud-native tooling and related fields.
• Contribute to a fun-loving, hardworking, highly engaged team.
