Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a Senior Software Engineer AI to lead the AI shift within a fully remote engineering organization. You will modernize core lending products on a strong C# and .NET foundation while guiding how the team uses AI in daily work.

You’ll own from design through production, set practical AI coding standards, and mentor peers to deliver high-quality software across the entire stack, from backend services to frontend interfaces.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, or close to it and clearly ready for a senior role.
• Deep experience with C#, .NET and .NET Core.
• Hands-on React, TypeScript, SQL and REST API work.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• A solid grasp of distributed systems and scalable architecture, including debugging production issues.
• Daily use of AI coding tools, and a clear way of checking what they produce.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Modernize existing products and services, with the backend in C# and .NET and the frontend in React and TypeScript
• Lead AI adoption across engineering by bringing in tools like Claude Code, Copilot and Cursor and showing how to use them well
• Set practices for reviewing and checking AI-generated code so quality stays high
• Shape architecture and technical design as older systems are updated
• Build and maintain the APIs and integrations behind customer-facing applications
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and production reliability
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing and technical coaching
