Job summary

Nomic is seeking a senior software engineer to build on the Nomic platform, spanning frontend, API, and backend services used by enterprise customers and developers.

You will lead the architecture and guide AI coding agents, ensuring clean abstractions, coherent codebases, and velocity without sacrificing quality. Hybrid work in NYC with strong ownership of product features will define your day-to-day.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong full-stack skills across frontend and backend
• Production experience with Python and TypeScript
• Active, intentional use of AI coding tools as primary workflow
• Good instincts for API design, data modeling, and system architecture
• Code that is clear, tested, and maintainable with or without agents

Responsibilities

• Develop product features end-to-end from UI to API to data layer
• Build backend services in Python and TypeScript
• Implement frontend in React/TypeScript
• Design and maintain APIs for internal and external developers
• Integrate with AI and agent systems to deliver reliable tooling
