Job summary

Engrain is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its product team in Colorado, focusing on SightMap and TouchTour. You will design features, modernize legacy code, and build scalable AI-enabled processes as part of a fast-moving team.

You will work on APIs, integrations, and AI-assisted tooling while ensuring code quality, security, and reliability across the stack. Join a culture of autonomy and cutting-edge technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience using generative AI tools to solve problems and speed up delivery.
• Strong command of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Hands-on experience with React, Redux, PHP, and Laravel.
• Experience refactoring and modernizing legacy codebases.
• Proficiency with MySQL and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with containers, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD. GCP is a plus.
• Experience writing automated tests and secure coding practices.
• Ability to write effective prompts and iterate with AI output.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable features with AI-assisted tooling.
• Build and maintain the data APIs powering SightMap and TouchTour.
• Refactor legacy code to modern React-based approaches.
• Collaborate with UX and Product to translate complex flows into reliable solutions.
• Provide constructive PR feedback and ensure AI-derived code meets quality standards.
• Design and build APIs with an API-first mindset.
• Contribute to infra and deployments in GCP and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain AI-enabled internal systems with a focus on security and reliability.
