Wellington Management in Boston is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Investor Modeling team. You will design and evolve Python-based modeling services and dashboards across the full stack, partnering with analysts and engineers to deliver scalable, reliable investment tooling.

You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and apply AI-assisted development practices to improve workflows. The role involves front-end, back-end, and data layer work with AWS, React, SQL databases,

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and developing software solutions.
• Experience with SDLC tooling (JIRA, Git, CI/CD) and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Proficiency in Python with data libraries (pandas, NumPy) and ORM (SQLAlchemy).
• Experience leading architecture/design discussions and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support investment modeling applications across the full stack.
• Set technical direction for Python and dashboard stack; standardize libraries/frameworks.
• Lead design reviews and provide architectural guidance to engineers.
• Integrate AI-driven capabilities into investor-facing workflows.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and investment professionals across the lifecycle.
• Manage and communicate delivery timelines; escalate risks.
• Maintain technical design and support documentation.
• Support production systems with data quality checks and on-call participation.
