Job summary

Pearl is seeking a Senior Engineer to build and improve AI-powered, real-time dental AI workflows and agentic systems. You will own components, design systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key areas include real-time transcription, structured documentation using LLMs, data pipelines, and end-to-end development across Node.js/TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS. Remote-friendly environment with strong ownership requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to own work and deliver independently.
• Experience with Node.js / TypeScript and React.
• Familiarity with AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling.
• Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS).
• Familiarity with LLM-based systems and tool usage.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain real-time transcription and LLM-powered summarization pipelines.
• Contribute to agentic systems with tool-calling workflows and integrations.
• Develop backend and frontend across the stack (Node.js/TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, AWS).
• Support event-driven architectures with Kafka, SQS, or similar.
• Write reliable, testable code with maintainability and observability in mind.
• Collaborate on prompt engineering and evaluation of AI outputs.
• Help monitor, debug, and improve system performance and reliability.
• Work with AI development tools to enhance productivity.
• Partner with senior engineers on system design and technical decisions.
