Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and scale our foundational architecture in the Autonomous Ops & Maintenance team. You will synthesize data into knowledge, engineer AI-driven components, and build reliable systems for automated modifications.

The role blends research and production, owning features end-to-end, tackling ambiguous problems, and ensuring reliability and observability in multi-tenant environments. Hybrid work culture at Datadog supports work-life harmony.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
• BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Go.
• Comfort building and operating production services end to end, owning features and components.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience using AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validating AI output.
• Bonus: Kubernetes, workflow orchestration, or AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Lead a greenfield initiative from inception to scale, shaping foundational product architecture and engaging with users to refine concepts.
• Build mission-critical solutions that customers depend on daily.
• Build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable solutions in multi-tenant environments.
