Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Evaluation & Annotation team to help scale our AI platform. You will lead 4–6 engineers, shape the technical vision, and partner with AI platform and Applied AI teams to build scalable data pipelines and tooling.

You’ll drive hands-on engineering with code reviews and design reviews while fostering a strong, inclusive culture focused on delivering high-quality software on a tight iteration cycle.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams (tech lead or people manager).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build high-performing teams.
• Interest in early-stage projects with rapid iteration.
• Track record delivering high-quality software on schedule with product partners.
• Hands-on leader with backend, data engineering, and infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the Evaluation & Annotation team, directly managing 4-6 engineers.
• Define the technical roadmap aligned with AI platform goals and the Applied AI roadmap.
• Collaborate with core platform teams to tailor storage and data pipelines to needs.
• Create a strong team culture aligned with our engineering standards and customer focus.
• Participate in hands-on work: Code reviews, design reviews and some coding.
