Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC4) for the AntiSpam and Delivery team in a flexible hybrid role in Champaign, IL. You will own architecture for high-concurrency services in Java and Go, driving AI-assisted enhancements and resilient delivery pipelines.

You will mentor engineers, lead architectural discussions, and push continuous deployment across production, with emphasis on reliability and scalable design in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development with Java/Go/C++
• 2+ years building and operating large-scale distributed server apps in production
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS, and networking
• Experience delivering cloud-native apps with CI/CD in GCP/AWS
• Proven ability to lead initiatives and mentor peers

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain high-concurrency distributed microservices in Java and Go
• Champion AI-assisted engineering practices and integrate LLM workflows
• Lead architecture reviews, code quality standards, and CI/CD rollout
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and telemetry across cloud-native and hybrid environments
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster technical excellence
• Perform root-cause analysis on critical systems and drive reliability improvements
• Drive cross-squad technical initiatives and engineering productivity
