Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to guide the AntiSpam and Delivery squad responsible for protecting users from abuse and ensuring reliable delivery of billions of messages daily.

You will shape the team's evolution into an AI-forward software organization, mentor managers and senior engineers, and translate business needs into clear technical plans while driving cloud-native modernization and strong operational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems, with significant leadership.
• 4+ years of engineering management leading senior engineers and tech leads.
• Proven ability to own delivery and operations for a large engineering team with measurable impact.
• Strong technical depth in scalable distributed systems, reliability, and performance-sensitive backend infrastructure.
• Experience in areas such as email delivery, anti-spam, anti-abuse, trust and safety, or large-scale systems.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership to align engineering and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large AntiSpam and Delivery squad, accountable for execution, operations, quality and health.
• Evolve the team into an AI-forward software development organization, boosting AI fluency.
• Use AI to enhance planning, execution, and tracking of the team's work.
• Own the engineering roadmap for anti-abuse and messaging delivery infrastructure.
• Translate business and product requirements into clear technical plans and roadmaps.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to manage interdependencies and initiatives.
• Guide the team through critical production issues and long-term risk reduction.
• Improve standards, postmortems, delivery practices, and cross-team processes.
• Drive cloud-native modernization and architectural simplification.
• Hire, develop, and retain engineers; mentor managers; foster accountability.
