Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Agile Product Owner for Flight & Mission Simulation, onsite in Sterling, VA. You will own and refine the team backlog and write actionable user stories while partnering with Product Management to align features with PI objectives.

You will ensure security, performance, and compliance are embedded in work, participate in PI planning, and drive continuous improvement using flow metrics and team data.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Own and refine the team backlog; write actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Partner with Product Management to break down features and align team delivery with PI objectives.
• Provide daily clarification to the team, make scope decisions, and validate completed work.
• Ensure non-functional requirements (security, performance, compliance) are integrated into stories.
• Participate in PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt to drive continuous improvement.
• Use flow metrics and team performance data to improve predictability and value delivery.
