Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Lead DevOps Engineer to work onsite at our Sterling, VA facility. This role supports simulation systems across the full development lifecycle and requires an active US security clearance.

The team collaborates with Systems, Software and Cyber groups to maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and toolchains. Expect responsibilities including release ownership, automation development, and ensuring the right tools are in place for timely delivery.

Qualifications

Requires STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years; or 8+ years if no degree.
Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required prior to start date.
Strong problem-solving and ownership of DevOps processes.

Responsibilities

Lead DevOps engineer for a team developing simulation systems across architecture, design, integration, testing, and field support.
Coordinate with Systems, Software, and Cyber teams to refine build processes and deployment environments.
Develop automation solutions to enable efficient and consistent code builds and deployments.
Own the program’s release process with reliable change-management for customer delivery.
Identify and maintain the program’s software toolchain and ensure tools are available when needed.
