Job summary

AppFolio, a cloud-based software leader, is hiring a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to own the Affordable Housing domain. You will build scalable web solutions, mentor peers, and collaborate across QA, product owners, and designers in an agile environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering, experience across the stack, and familiarity with RoR, React, MySQL, AWS, and SOA, plus Agile and TDD practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering teams.
• Experience building web applications in a SaaS environment.
• Experience across all levels of the development stack.
• Familiarity with Agile software development: Scrum or Kanban.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development.
• Care about long-term maintainability and refactoring.

Responsibilities

• Build a deep understanding of the Affordable Housing domain and own the solution space.
• Develop scalable, robust, and simple web-based solutions.
• Mentor and guide other software engineers.
• Implement new features and optimize existing ones for performance.
• Collaborate with QA, product owners, and designers in a high-performing team.
• Work in an agile fashion to slice problems into deliverables and reduce WIP.
• Research and adopt new technologies and trends.
• Maintain high engineering standards and participate in code reviews.
