DUTIES
- Keeps assigned applications operational by testing product upgrades, providing customer support, and troubleshooting issues.
- Plans for information systems and services, including application design, development, installation, or database administration, following SRNS IT processes.
- Provides design, engineering, technical specifications, project coordination, and configuration management for moderately complex IT solutions.
- Assists senior technical personnel in related activities.
- Collaborates with the Software Professional Lead and customer to understand requirements.
- Maintains technical expertise and demonstrates flexibility across disciplines.
- Supports application development lifecycle, software support, and database administration.
- Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex problems.
- Ensures service continuity through prompt issue resolution.
- Utilizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems and debuggers.
- Leads analysis and development of requirements, design specs, and reviews documentation.
- Trains less experienced personnel and leads moderate projects.
- Conducts feasibility studies and develops test plans.
- Participates in validation, reviews, and policy evaluations.
- Supports software infrastructure and maintains cyber posture and compliance.
- Performs software and database installations and upgrades.
- Plans for future database needs including disaster recovery.
- Maintains confidentiality of operations.
Work Hours
Standard 40-hour work week, various schedules including 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s. Overtime may be required. Remote work possible if residing in a 'green' state.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations as detailed.
- Knowledge of software engineering, programming, and database infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.
- Active eFOCI registration and Facility Level Clearance with DOE/NNSA.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Recent DOE clearance (within 2 years).
- Experience in web application development using Visual Studio, Eclipse, SpringTools, .NET, Java, C#.
- Experience with SQL Server or Oracle, SOA, REST APIs, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, TFS, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, JavaScript frameworks, and Agile methodologies.
