Job description

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Software Engineer opportunity for our customer in Aiken, SC to support the Savannah River Site.

DUTIES
  1. Keeps assigned applications operational by testing product upgrades, providing customer support, and troubleshooting issues.
  2. Plans for information systems and services, including application design, development, installation, or database administration, following SRNS IT processes.
  3. Provides design, engineering, technical specifications, project coordination, and configuration management for moderately complex IT solutions.
  4. Assists senior technical personnel in related activities.
  5. Collaborates with the Software Professional Lead and customer to understand requirements.
  6. Maintains technical expertise and demonstrates flexibility across disciplines.
  7. Supports application development lifecycle, software support, and database administration.
  8. Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex problems.
  9. Ensures service continuity through prompt issue resolution.
  10. Utilizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems and debuggers.
  11. Leads analysis and development of requirements, design specs, and reviews documentation.
  12. Trains less experienced personnel and leads moderate projects.
  13. Conducts feasibility studies and develops test plans.
  14. Participates in validation, reviews, and policy evaluations.
  15. Supports software infrastructure and maintains cyber posture and compliance.
  16. Performs software and database installations and upgrades.
  17. Plans for future database needs including disaster recovery.
  18. Maintains confidentiality of operations.
Work Hours

Standard 40-hour work week, various schedules including 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s. Overtime may be required. Remote work possible if residing in a 'green' state.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations as detailed.
  • Knowledge of software engineering, programming, and database infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.
  • Active eFOCI registration and Facility Level Clearance with DOE/NNSA.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recent DOE clearance (within 2 years).
  • Experience in web application development using Visual Studio, Eclipse, SpringTools, .NET, Java, C#.
  • Experience with SQL Server or Oracle, SOA, REST APIs, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, TFS, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, JavaScript frameworks, and Agile methodologies.
