Senior Software Engineer (Nest, GraphQL, Typescript) - 100% Remote

Optomi, in partnership with a leading food distribution company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing team! The Senior Engineer will work on greenfield development with a focus on Digital API Integrations. You will be a part of a team that supports the highest-generating product across the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Build out a new public facing API layer in NestJS for third-party partner access.
2. Define solutions, create requirements, and establish the technical vision for a greenfield API team.
3. Manage access controls, bandwidth considerations, and usage monitoring, leveraging technologies such as GraphQL.
4. Ensure application responsiveness and performance across devices and platforms.
5. Implement and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
6. Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
7. Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentor junior developers.
8. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. 8+ years of professional software development experience.
3. 5+ years in a Lead or Technical Lead role, involving code reviews and team oversight.
4. Experience with Digital or Commercial APIs.
5. Proficiency in NestJS, Node, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
6. Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB.
7. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
8. Knowledge of frontend design principles.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
10. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
