Loyal is a clinical-stage veterinary medicine company developing drugs intended to extend the lifespan and healthspan of dogs. Our mission is to help dogs live longer, healthier lives.

We’ve already achieved significant milestones on our path to earning FDA approval for the first lifespan extension drug for any species. We have three products in our pipeline and are on track for FDA conditional approval within the next year.

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Loyal, you’ll shape how we support veterinarians and dog owners as you help build and launch our eCommerce platform. This is more than a simple storefront — it’s a tightly integrated application that directly supports our mission of helping dogs live longer, healthier lives.

You’ll work across the stack to build thoughtful, scalable features that balance immediate product needs with long-term technical health. You’ll bring strong engineering fundamentals, a product-focused mindset, and a passion for creating user experiences that are polished, performant, and trustworthy.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is motivated by building systems that serve real human (and canine!) needs.

You will be reporting to our VP of Engineering.

Your daily work will include:

• Collaborate across the stack (Next.js, TypeScript, React, Postgres/Neon, Medusa.js, Vercel, AWS, Terraform, K8s) to build and ship performant, user-facing web applications
• Own features from inception to deployment, with a focus on reliability, usability, and maintainability
• Write clean, well-tested code
• Perform code reviews to help drive best practices across the team
• Help shape architectural direction and contribute to scalable, secure, and maintainable system design
• Accelerate delivery and improve developer ergonomics through thoughtful use of AI-tooling
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure platform stability and meet or exceed SLA commitments

Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000
