Ascendion, Plano, TX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver high-quality full-stack features using Node.js and React. You will collaborate with design, product, QA, and engineering teams to build scalable applications and RESTful APIs, while mentoring others and staying abreast of new technologies.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, strong database and cloud skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset within an Agile environment.

Formación

• Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with UI/UX collaboration and cross-browser development.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON.
• Strong relational and NoSQL DB knowledge.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Code reviews and mentoring experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• DevOps practices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Unit and end-to-end testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality, maintainable, and scalable full-stack features using Node.js, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Develop RESTful APIs using Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product, QA, and engineering, to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Research technical issues and provide clear paths to resolution using strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages, development methodologies, and best practices.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Experience working with UI/UX designers and cross-browser development.
• Demonstrated experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and JSON.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, database design, data modeling, SQL, and NoSQL.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with code reviews and mentoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks.

Salary and Other Compensation
