Job summary

1Fort, a NYC-based insurtech startup, is building AI-powered risk mitigation to transform insurance from reactive to proactive. As a Founding Engineer, you will own major features end-to-end, ensure software robustness, and mentor the team in a fast-moving startup environment.

You’ll work cross-functionally with product, design, and partnerships to shape architecture and UI/UX decisions, contributing to culture and company growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead and scale tech teams.
• Able to create and apply processes and tools to increase development efficiencies.
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
• Good understanding of REST API design and implementation.

We're a lean team based in NYC with strong complementary skills and having worked in insurance, cybersecurity and B2B SaaS growth at places like Google, BCG and Coalition.

You’ll have outsized impact and ownership

You'll build something from 0 to 1. As a Founding Engineer, you'll take on many of the responsibilities expected in a founder. Main responsibilities include:
