Job summary

Auria Space in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate key software components for the SDN-B MOC. This contingent position offers exposure to state‑of‑the‑practice distributed systems and high‑scale orchestration.

You will implement decision logic for resource allocation, build arbitration across service levels, and support automated provisioning and networking tasks critical to mission operations.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years software engineering experience.
• Go experience strongly preferred; Python; backend/distributed systems; rules engines or policy engines; workflow/orchestration software; concurrency experience.
• Kubernetes; high‑performance API services; network configuration/provisioning; strong automated testing.

Auria is actively seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Carlsbad, CA, to design, develop, and integrate key software components for the Space Data Network-Backbone (SDN-B) Mission Operations Center (MOC). This is a contingent position.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

• Build the decision logic that determines how SDN resources get allocated and prioritized.
• Specifically build hierarchical arbitration across Service, Regional and User precedence, along with performance at scale.
• The candidate would support automated provisioning (terminal whitelisting, IP assignment and traffic-flow pinning to regional pLEO SDN PoPs).

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

• 7-10 years software engineering experience
• Go experience strongly preferred; Python; backend/distributed systems; rules engines or policy engines; workflow/orchestration software; concurrency experience
• Kubernetes; high-performance API services; network configuration/provisioning; strong automated testing.experience
• Active TS required.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

• Experience in Space C2 experience and network orchestration software is preferred.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $175,000-$210,000
