Job summary

Acuity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on CIAM to design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications that power identity capabilities across web, mobile, and API channels.

You will build RESTful services, integrate with identity providers like Okta/Azure AD, implement OAuth 2.0 and OIDC, and collaborate with product, security, and IAM specialists to deliver scalable, secure customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience developing full-stack applications in cloud-native environments.

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications supporting CIAM capabilities
• Build customer-facing identity experiences including registration, login, MFA, profile management, account recovery, and consent management
• Develop scalable backend services, RESTful and event-driven APIs, microservices, SDKs, components, and shared services
• Build responsive, accessible, and secure user interfaces using modern frontend technologies
• Implement authentication and authorization across web, mobile, and API channels
• Integrate applications with CIAM platforms and identity providers
• Support B2B, B2C, and partner identity use cases, including lifecycle management and provisioning workflows
• Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and resilience
• Apply secure coding practices and implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and token-based authentication flows
• Support threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, security reviews, privacy compliance, and customer data protection
• Build automated tests for application and identity workflows
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Support deployment, release management, monitoring, observability, DevSecOps, and platform automation
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Security Engineers, Platform Engineers, Architects, UX teams, and IAM specialists
• Participate in agile ceremonies and technical design discussions
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring
• Help drive adoption of the shared CIAM platform across Acuity business units

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven experience developing full-stack applications in cloud-native environments
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js or Vue.js
• Strong backend development experience using Node.js and Python
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with microservices and distributed architectures
• Hands-on experience integrating with identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID / External ID, Okta, Auth0, Ping Identity, or similar CIAM platforms
• Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT Tokens, and authentication and authorization patterns
• Experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience with Git-based development workflows
• Experience implementing automated testing and quality engineering practices
• Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Preferred: experience with IAM or CIAM programs, large-scale customer-facing platforms, Azure AD B2C migrations, Kubernetes, Terraform, Bicep, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, observability tools, consent and privacy management, Zero Trust, multi-tenant SaaS, AI-enabled customer experiences, and Azure, cloud, security, or identity certifications
