Job summary

WelcomeHome is a remote-first SaaS provider based in Atlanta, delivering CRM solutions for senior living and home care. We seek a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a growing team reporting to the VP of Engineering.

You will work on backend with Rails 8/3.3, frontend with Haml/Stimulus, and support testing and deployment workflows. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, a passion for user-centric software, and the ability to work independently in a growth-stage

• 5+ years software engineering experience.
• Experience using Claude Code (or similar AI tools) in daily development workflow.
• Prior experience in a growth-stage company or startup.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend with Ruby on Rails 8 / Ruby 3.3 and frontend with Haml, Stimulus, and lightweight React.
• Write tests with Minitest and Capybara; follow TDD practices.
• Collaborate across teams to ship high quality software for users in senior living and home care.
• Own software components and contribute to architecture decisions.

About the Role:

WelcomeHome is looking for Senior Ruby on Rails Engineers excited about building user-friendly software solutions. This role is fully remote (based in the U.S.), will report to our VP of Engineering (based in Las Vegas), and play an integral role in product development and have the opportunity to impact several areas of the business.

• Backend: Ruby on Rails 8 / Ruby 3.3 (currently upgrading to Ruby 4)
• Frontend: Haml, Stimulus, minimal React (where it earns its place)
• Testing: Minitest + Capybara, TDD throughout
• Infrastructure: AWS (Aurora, S3, EC2) via Cloud66
• AI: Pi, Codex, and Claude Code used in the daily dev workflow

A great candidate might have:

• Deep experience with Ruby on Rails
• 5+ years software engineering experience
• Passion for building high quality software focused on the user experience
• Ability to take ownership and work well with others
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to problem solve and offer solutions
• Experience using Claude Code (or comparable AI tools) as part of your daily development workflow
• Prior experience in a growth stage company or start-up
