Job summary

Aderant in the United States seeks an Engineering Manager with hands-on TypeScript expertise to lead a cross-functional team building and modernizing a critical platform. You will guide architecture, API and mobile/backend delivery, and cloud-native operations in AWS, aiming for secure, observable services and scalable systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in engineering leadership, strong API and TypeScript skills, and a track record of migrating legacy systems to modern service

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering leadership with direct people management
• Strong hands-on TypeScript experience (client and backend/API)
• Proven track record in architectural modernization or migrations to modern service platforms
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in AWS
• Sharp architectural judgment on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Experience delivering cross-team initiatives with product, QA, and platform stakeholders
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical partners

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team delivering core platform capabilities across APIs, mobile apps, and desktop clients
• Drive modernization initiatives toward a TypeScript-oriented service architecture
• Partner with Product, QA, and platform teams to define sequencing and reduce delivery risk
• Establish technical standards for service design, observability, and secure-by-default implementations
• Support multi-region production operations and incident response practices
• Coach engineers and develop a high-trust, accountable team culture
