Sonos in Boston is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the Connectivity team to design, implement, and maintain Bluetooth software powering Sonos products. The role is hybrid, requiring in-person presence at least three days per week in our Boston office.

You will work across Product, QA, Mobile, Platform, and Hardware teams to deliver reliable Bluetooth features, debug issues, and contribute to automated tests and engineering process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming in C/C++.
• Experience on Linux or embedded systems.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth Classic/BLE.
• Experience debugging complex software issues across hardware/software boundaries.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Bluetooth software for Sonos products.

About the Role

• Familiarity with Bluetooth Classic and/or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
• Experience debugging complex software issues and working across hardware/software boundaries.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with consumer electronics or IoT devices.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth SIG specifications, profiles, and protocols.
• Experience with Wi‑Fi or other wireless networking technologies.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development tools.
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices.

Pay

The base pay range for this role based on geographic location is $137,000 – $170,900. The specific salary offered will depend on the candidate’s geographic location, qualifications, and experience. Compensation details listed in U.S. job postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
