GoDaddy is hiring for a remote growth engineering role focused on building AI-powered agents and scalable backend services. You will work across full-stack development, architecting cloud infrastructure, and delivering reliable, observable systems for thousands of users.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend-focused roles, with AWS/Azure experience, distributed systems expertise, and strong API design skills. Collaboration across teams and mentorship are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling full-stack applications with backend and infrastructure focus.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms, supporting thousands of users.
• Expertise in distributed systems and microservices, API design, asynchronous processing and event-driven patterns.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Node.js, Python, Go) and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Strong observability, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD, and clean code practices.

Responsibilities

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

You’ll architect, deploy, and operate AI-powered systems in live environments, tackling challenges in reliability, scalability, and performance as we grow our AI footprint across GoDaddy.

What you’ll get to do

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents using Node.js, integrating LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into scalable backend services, and delivering AI-powered experiences through full-stack applications with React frontends.
• Architect and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure to support AI workloads for thousands of users, including database design and end-to-end system ownership.
• Develop and optimize APIs that orchestrate AI agents, handle asynchronous processing, and manage complex workflows with a focus on performance, reliability, and observability in production environments.
• Work across the full stack and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scalable, available, and maintainable technical solutions while reducing technical debt and strengthening engineering foundations.
• Mentor junior engineers on full-stack and AI best practices, and actively participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-mortems to ensure high operational standards.

Your experience should include

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling full-stack applications, with a strong focus on backend development and infrastructure, including end-to-end delivery of production systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms, deploying and operating services at scale with the ability to support thousands of concurrent users.
• Expertise in distributed systems and micro-services architectures, including strong knowledge of API design, asynchronous processing, and event-driven systems.
• Proficiency in modern backend languages (Node.js, Python, Go, or similar), along with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Strong foundation in observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.

You might also have

• Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs and AI frameworks (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or similar), including deploying and monitoring ML/AI models in production environments.
• Familiarity with agentic AI patterns such as tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, and structured output validation.
• Experience working with vector databases and semantic search technologies (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Elasticsearch).
• Experience building modern single-page applications using React, Vue, or similar frontend frameworks, along with a background in developing developer tools, APIs, or platform services.
• Experience with creating tests early in the development process and implementing automated testing strategies to ensure code quality and reliability.
