Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Developer - SME to design, build, and enhance cloud-enabled applications supporting FAA NAS programs. You will collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions impacting millions of travelers daily.

This role is primarily on-site at Herndon, VA, with potential alternate locations in Bowie, MD, and involves integration with CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines to meet federal compliance and performance

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and PL/SQL.
• Experience designing cloud or hybrid applications.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-enabled software for FAA programs.
• Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression tests.
• Support CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines and tooling.
• Triage defects and system integration challenges.
• Contribute to technical design documents and compliance materials.
• Participate in system verification, readiness reviews, and modernization efforts.

Education

Bachelor's degree / Master’s / Associate / HS diploma equivalents with 12 / 10 / 14 / 16 years of experience
