Job summary

Peraton seeks a Software Developer - SME to design, build, and enhance cloud-enabled applications supporting FAA NAS programs. You will work with engineers, cybersecurity pros, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions for millions of users.

This on-site role in Herndon VA requires strong Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and cloud experience, plus Docker/Kubernetes and DevSecOps familiarity. Join a mission-focused team delivering critical aviation systems.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years, or Master's with 10+ years, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and PL/SQL.
• Experience in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD DevSecOps.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance cloud-enabled software for aviation programs.
• Develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications.
• Translate requirements into maintainable code.
• Conduct peer code reviews and ensure coding standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity, and stakeholders.
• Develop unit, integration, and regression tests.
• Support integration into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Troubleshoot defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to technical design artifacts and user guides.
