Thanx is a leading loyalty and guest engagement platform for restaurants. We are hiring a senior software engineer to build scalable full‑stack solutions, leveraging AI augmented workflows and modern web frameworks.

You will collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and help reduce tech debt while shipping robust features. The role offers remote work from Canada and compensation aligned with tiered city ranges.

Qualifications

• 6+ years developing with modern web frameworks (Rails, Django, or similar).
• Experience with front end technologies: React, Angular, TypeScript.
• Full stack capability with potential specialization in one area.
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration and cross functional discussions.
• Active daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).

• Develop using AI augmented workflows. Our engineers use Claude Code as their primary development tool with MCP connections to production data, Jira, Notion, Sentry, and Datadog.
• Diagnose bugs and address root causes to enhance stability; participate in on call rotations.
• Actively engage in code reviews and technical discussions to improve team collaboration.
• Systematically identify and mitigate technical debt.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and participate in learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build scalable, maintainable software solutions across full stack development
• Develop using AI augmented workflows. Our engineers use Claude Code as their primary development tool with MCP connections to production data, Jira, Notion, Sentry, and Datadog. We expect engineers to actively leverage and improve these workflows.
• Diagnose bugs and address root causes to enhance stability; participate in on call rotations
• Actively engage in code reviews and technical discussions to improve team collaboration

• Stay current with emerging technologies and participate in learning opportunities

Core Requirements

• 6+ years developing with modern web frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Django, or similar)
• Experience with front end technologies: React, Angular, TypeScript, or comparable tools
• Full stack capability with potential specialization in one area
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration and cross functional discussions
• Active daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) with demonstrated productivity gains. We are looking for engineers who have integrated AI into their development workflow, not just experimented with it.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specific expertise in Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native
• Experience building reusable AI workflows, skills, or tooling that others can use
• Computer Science degree (B.Sc. or higher)
• Infrastructure as code experience (AWS CDK, Terraform)
• Data platform experience (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt)
• Early stage startup background

Compensation Ranges:
L4 - Tier 1 City: $155,000 - $190,000 CAD
L4 - Tier 2 City: $135,000 - $165,000 CAD
L5 - Tier 1 City: $185,000 - $220,000 CAD
L5 - Tier 2 City: $165,000 - $200,000 CAD

Leveling & Location:

Thanx uses structured internal levelling and location-based compensation. Final levelling and compensation are determined through the interview process based on experience, scope, and work location, and any offer will align to the appropriate range.
