Position Overview

By Light is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join and lead our technical team in providing support to our client at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will be someone that can work independently or within an integrated team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy software applications and features
• Lead an effort to migrate the applications into Azure cloud environment
• Lead the team to implement significant enhancements
• Carry software products through the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Write clean, concise, and efficient code
• Implement test automation for all new code and add automated tests for existing code
• Manage code and documentation in version control
• Write or update documentation and diagrams
• Work in an agile environment to release software on a regular schedule
• Troubleshoot and debug software
• Work with business analysts to define software requirements
• Provide Operations and Maintenance support
• Accurately estimate enhancements and defect fixes
• Review and mentor developer pull requests

Required Experience/Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant years experience required.
• College degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience
• Ability to deliver tasks on time
• Experience with software development life-cycle to include Agile methodology
• Experience working on a variety of software development projects.
• Experience supporting ATO efforts
• Experience with 508 compliance
• Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications.
• Experience with:
