Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Dev Engineer for the Athena Admission Control team in East Palo Alto. You will design, build and deploy high‑performance, distributed software that orchestrates compute for petabyte‑scale analytics, enabling instant, elastic capacity without server management.

You will work with senior and principal engineers, tackle multi‑tenant resource isolation, and influence platform services powering AWS analytics offerings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• 1+ years designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, distributed software applications.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy some of our most strategic technical projects.
• Deliver large‑scale, high‑performance production systems and design new distributed software systems.
• Mentor engineers, perform hands‑on technical work and provide leadership on complex technical issues.
