Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Redmond, WA seeks an experienced software engineer to join the engines team.

You will help design and implement features to improve performance of the analytics query engines used by Athena, EMR and related services. The role focuses on deep changes to the query engine, optimizer, compiler, and storage connectors to deliver scalable, serverless analytics at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Help design and implement key features and performance optimizations for the query engine.
• Contribute to deeper changes across the query engine codebase to improve efficiency and scalability.
