Job summary

Silfex is seeking an Experienced Software Controls Engineer to advance the CZ crystal growth automation on-site in Springfield, OH. You will design and maintain PLC/Ladder logic and HMI software for CZ growers, integrate MES interfaces, and support vision control systems to improve throughput, reliability, and connectivity.

The role requires strong PLC/HMI experience, proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal and Mitsubishi systems, and a track record in process automation.

Qualifications

12+ years of related experience with a degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s; or 5+ years with a PhD.
Electrical or software engineering degree preferred.
Experience with PLC ladder logic and structured text.
Experience in HMI applications (Wonderware/Pro-face/PanelView/FactoryTalk).
C#, Matlab, Python are a plus; strong root cause analysis skills.
Background in silicon crystal growth is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Create/modify CZ grower PLC and HMI software to improve automation and reliability.
Develop MES interface software and support vision control.
Install, commission, and startup new or modified equipment designs.
Maintain and improve equipment software through validation and change control.
Collaborate with Silfex and external suppliers on software designs.
Gather data to establish performance standards and analyze process data.
Manage project schedules and budgets; report status to PMO.
