Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and deploy mission‑critical software for a government customer in the U.S. Intelligence Community.

You will own architecture across the stack, write Go and Rust, and embrace AI‑assisted development while ensuring reliability and security. The role requires 8+ years of experience, Linux proficiency, and eligibility for TS/SCI with Poly.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Systems‑level programming in Go and/or Rust.
• Strong Linux and shell/Bash skills, including kernel understanding.
• Experience designing and architecting software/systems.
• Building secure, highly available distributed systems.
• Containerized software development (e.g., Docker/OCI).
• Writing automated tests and using CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted or agentic coding tools.
• Security clearance: Ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly.
• Citizenship: US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end software systems and services with thoughtful trade‑offs.
• Design, develop, and modify enterprise software across the lifecycle.
• Create architecture diagrams, design documents, and patterns for scalability.
• Write production‑grade Go and Rust, with automated tests.
• Contribute to frontend work in TypeScript/React when needed.
• Use AI/agentic coding tools to accelerate development with human oversight.
• Package, build, and deploy containerized apps in modern environments.
• Build internal tools, CLIs, and APIs to streamline workflows.
• Work across the full stack from kernel to application runtime.
