Dallas County seeks a technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of robust, scalable, and secure software solutions that support county services. You will mentor engineers, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate across divisions to modernize legacy systems.

This role shapes technology direction, ensures alignment with enterprise standards and strategy, and leads technical planning, reviews, and roadmaps to deliver reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience including system design and technical leadership.
• Certifications (Preferred): cloud and agile related.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams.
• Knowledge of modern software architectures (microservices, event-driven).
• Proficiency in secure coding and government IT compliance.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and implementation of complex applications and services.
• Ensure secure coding practices and CI/CD security scanning.
• Guide incident response and root cause analyses.
• Align delivery with accessibility, security, and regulatory standards.
