Job summary

Dallas County seeks a Technical Leader to drive architecture, design, and delivery of robust, scalable software solutions for County services. You will mentor engineers, enforce enterprise standards, and collaborate across divisions to modernize legacy systems.

The role emphasizes secure coding, DevOps integration, and measurable improvement in system resilience, performance, and maintainability, with a strong focus on public sector IT compliance and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Five (5) years of software development experience including system design and technical leadership.
• Certifications in cloud or Agile domains are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of complex applications, platforms, and services.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery aligned with business needs and enterprise standards.
• Mentor engineers and guide cross-team collaboration to modernize legacy systems.
• Drive secure coding practices and implement CI/CD security checks.
• Define technical roadmaps, architecture decisions, and governance with product partners.
• Support incident response and performance optimization across environments.
