Job summary

Evolent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions from a remote home office. You will build high-performance APIs and microservices, collaborating with product, UX, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in C#, Java, or Python, plus ASP.NET MVC & WCF, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex, scalable applications.
• Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python and familiarity with their ecosystems.
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC & WCF applications.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and container orchestration like Docker/Kubernetes.
• SQL and NoSQL databases design/optimisation.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code).
• Experience integrating AI services into production apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions with scalability and maintainability.
• Architect and implement high-performance APIs and microservices for core business functions.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and uphold best coding practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and excellence.
• Improve SDLC with automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues to ensure high availability.
• Evaluate new tools/tech to improve processes and productivity.
• Drive the technical vision and long-term planning for projects.
• Apply AI-assisted development throughout the lifecycle.
