Job summary

Arboreal Management is seeking an exceptional software engineer to become the senior technical builder on a small, ambitious internal team building Maynard, our growing platform for leasing, operations, and AI-enabled workflows.

You will work directly with the CEO to translate vision into production software, owning critical architecture and delivering high-impact features that touch thousands of properties and residents. Seattle-based and in-person collaboration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production software and owning critical systems.
• Ability to work across the stack and align technical decisions with business goals.
• Strong opinions about reliability, maintainability, and observability.
• Comfort working directly with a highly involved CEO and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build major parts of Maynard
• Own architecture for technically difficult or high-risk systems
• Turn rough product concepts into reliable production software
• Make pragmatic decisions about where to apply engineering rigor and where to move fast
• Establish sensible standards around testing, deployment, observability, security, and reliability
• Review and improve existing systems as Maynard grows
• Work closely with our Product Engineer to support ~200 internal users
• Use modern AI development tools to increase engineering velocity
• Continue writing a lot of code
