Job summary

The Talent Advantage Group seeks an Associate Software Architect/Senior Engineer to drive design, development, and modernization of enterprise VB.NET/.NET applications. You will work with the Lead Developer/Architect to translate business needs into practical designs and production code.

You will maintain existing VB.NET/.NET Framework apps while building new C#/.NET capabilities, including API/data flow design and critical integration work.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in enterprise software development with design and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support app enhancements and fixes; contribute production code.
• Collaborate with Lead Dev/Architect to translate requirements into designs, tasks and estimates.
• Maintain VB.NET/.NET Framework apps while building new C#/.NET capabilities.
• Support modernization through gradual migration and coexistence of legacy and new components.
• Develop and review SQL Server queries, data access logic, and data flows with DB teams.
• Design and troubleshoot APIs, file transfers, batch interfaces, and SSO integrations.
• Create solution diagrams, interface specs, decisions, and hand-off docs.
• Participate in code/design reviews to improve error handling, logging, security, and performance.
• Work with QA/BA to clarify acceptance criteria and deliver testable artifacts.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving IIS, SQL Server, and integrations with infra teams.
• Design solutions for on-prem Windows/IIS and SQL Server operations with security and rollback.
